Wolves

Wolf - a predatory mammal species of the family Canidae (Canidae), which inhabits forests, plains, wetlands and mountains of Eurasia and North America. Typically, the territory is occupied by a pack of 100-300 km ². Wolves packs  are up to 20 individuals. Packs have a clearly defined internal hierarchy. They feed mainly on large and medium-sized hoofed mammals (deer, boar, roe deer), do not disdain the smaller animals, or carrion. In the absence of food, or during the rearing of young, sometimes they attack livestock. Historically, wolves were widespread, but human expansion contributed to the reduction of their population. Currently, in most countries, it consisted of species protection. Forests of north-eastern Poland,eg. Augustowska Primeval Forest, Knyszyńska or Białowieska, inhabited by a few pack of wolves, or a maximum of 30-50 wolves.
